844 days, 20,256 hours, 1,215,360 minutes, or 72,921,600 seconds. That is the approximate duration of my world tour. I never wanted it to end and now, in a manner of speaking, I suppose it never has to. If you wish to go by country do so by clicking on one above. They are numbered in the order I visited them, more or less. If you enjoy reading about it even a tenth as much as I enjoyed living it then you will not have wasted your time. Grab a refreshing beverage, settle in a comfortable chair, and make a journey across the world, experiencing it as I did. Then get off your ass and check it out for yourself. You're not getting any younger.

Bye Bye KL (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)

For a revised version of this post, go here.

Aug 15th, 2009 - Time to take my leave of KL...for now. Sri Lanka or bust. I will arrive tomorrow for my one month extravaganza. I’m giddy. There may be another motorcycle in my near future. I am a little apprehensive as the bloody civil war that has raged for 25 years recently came to a close when government forces broke the spine of the rebel Tamil Tiger insurgency in May of this year. There are areas still off limits, most notably in the North. You’d think all this strife would keep people away but such is not the case. Tourism is still alive and well, a fact I find more than a little fascinating. But don’t worry, I’m not that crazy.....I think. If I thought the danger were excessive I would go elsewhere (I've done a bit of research). The biggest concern revolves around what the remnants of the Tamil Tigers will do next, continue their bloody campaign of violence or adopt nonviolent political methods? We shall see. The country has a fascinating history and I cannot wait to explore both the land and its culture.
